What do you get when you combine employees from senior management, events, finance, human resources, guest services, security, crowd management, ice skating coaches and a range of other disciplines? A day of eclectic ideas and team development not to be forgotten.
MOM’s Ultimate Grand Prix away day was the central core of this innovative day combining leadership, team building, problem solving and decision making into a five hour education and training session with all areas and levels of management at the Nottingham Motorpoint Arena. The training brought together diverse areas to work together on solving three major incidents during the Singapore Grand Prix.
The day starts with a personality profiling session from which the individuals are put into teams to work through the scenario. A number of exercises take place during the session including communication development and delivery, the identification of how a race start procedure develops and a human resource puzzle linked to a racing car.
The teams worked well together but although they found the shrinking time frame difficult they managed to create some interesting solutions to the problems identified. Many learning points were brought out during the day and the feedback from the group was excellent.
This session was a taster session won as a MOM competition prize by Sam Oldham from the Arena who did an excellent job of putting a great facility and all of the resources needed together.
‘The Ultimate Grand Prix experience presented by Chris was very inspirational, energising and brought lots of ideas. The exercises were challenging and fun, and gave us an insight into not only ourselves, but the other people in our teams.  All teams took part in interesting and focused discussions and exchanges. Overall everyone learned different things and found the training to be a great development opportunity. We highly recommend Chris and his team.’
