The murky world of blackmail, extortion, and witchcraft

Andrew Brown, world-leading hostage negotiation expert and one of the tutors in organisational culture on the new MSc programme in Crowd Design, Management, and Risk Analysis, has written an article in the Journal of Crisis Response on “The murky world of blackmail, extortion, and witchcraft”.

Although not an area studied on the new MSc programme, the article makes for interesting reading for anyone interested in security.  The MSc, an innovative partnership between MOM and Edinburgh Napier University, will be starting very shortly.

Andrew was formerly Head of the Leadership Programmes at the Scottish Police College and is a much sought after hostage negotiator assisting in many rescues across the world; he is also a former Fulbright Scholar and has worked with the FBI at Quantico, NYPD, US Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force and many other law enforcement agencies.
