Assessing Risk In Major Events

28 March, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Risk Assessment Course

In March, Mind Over Matter Consultancy (MOM) and Cranfield Defence and Security Services Ltd (CDSSL) are offering an online course which focuses on assessing risk.

When working with crowded spaces, risk is an inevitable challenge. Therefore you must know how to manage it, document it and assess whether you can accept it. The course focuses on the integration of safety, security and service; ensuring that competence and quality are at the centre of your workforce.

Through this course you will receive tools to help you to prepare a risk assessment of your event. You will also get an understanding of how to develop a risk assessment and how to implement it in your organisation.

The key speaker is Morten Therkildsen. Morten is one of the leading experts for crowd safety management in Scandinavia and was the Director of Security for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 in Denmark. Morten is the daily manager of RF Experience Safety – one of the largest providers of full-service event consultancy and crowd management in Denmark. Morten is also the Head of Safety & Security at Europe’s most iconic festival at Roskilde in Denmark.

COURSE INFORMATION

This course will be delivered online on the 28th March 2022 from 14:00 to 19:00 GMT and costs £250.

This course is a Level 5 university credit rated programme (SCQF Level 8).

It is for anyone involved in the safety and management of crowded spaces. It will provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to evaluate risk within your organisation. You will learn about the legal framework, the terminology, and the different methodologies for risk assessment.

Rather than advocating a single, prescriptive approach to risk, this course uses a holistic approach and dynamic methodology for the assessment and mitigation of risk. It provides a number of different ways to view risk. This approach enables you to develop a broader understanding of risk and supports you in making an informed decision about your methodology.
